About us
Welcome to the Lucknow Diabetes Study Society - LDSS
The Lucknow Diabetes Study Society (LDSS) is a clinician-driven, research-oriented academic organization dedicated to advancing science, understanding, and comprehensive management of diabetes and its associated metabolic disorders. Founded with the vision of bridging clinical practice and meaningful real-world research, LDSS has emerged as a respected platform for collaborative scientific inquiry, academic excellence, and community-centered healthcare initiatives.
Over the past decade, LDSS has made significant contributions to diabetes research through a series of impactful population-based clinical studies addressing several underexplored yet clinically relevant aspects of diabetes care. Our research initiatives have spanned diverse areas, including hypoglycemia, psychosocial health, sexual dysfunction, diabetes and driving, medication discontinuation, Maturity-Onset Diabetes of the Young (MODY), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and liver fibrosis, as well as the psychological impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on individuals living with diabetes. These studies reflect our commitment to understanding diabetes not merely as a metabolic disorder, but as a condition that profoundly influences multiple dimensions of human life.
In a remarkably short period, LDSS has successfully conducted numerous original clinical research studies, generating valuable real-world evidence that continues to enrich contemporary diabetes practice and patient-centered care. Our work has received recognition on prestigious national and international scientific platforms, with presentations at globally respected forums such as the American Diabetes Association, the European Association for the Study of Diabetes, the International Diabetes Federation, the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India, and the American College of Physicians, among others.
Beyond academics and research, the Lucknow Diabetes Study Society (LDSS) firmly embraces the broader social responsibility of healthcare organizations. As a socially committed medical society, we actively champion initiatives that promote awareness, early detection, prevention, and evidence-based management of diabetes and related metabolic and lifestyle disorders. Through community screening programs, public health campaigns, patient education initiatives, outreach activities, and capacity-building efforts, LDSS turns scientific knowledge into meaningful health outcomes, reaching communities beyond academic forums and clinical practice.
A defining pillar of our mission is the dissemination of knowledge and the fostering of collaborative learning. Our flagship annual conference, LDSSCON, has grown into a premier scientific platform that brings together clinicians, diabetologists, researchers, academicians, policymakers, and healthcare leaders from across the country. The conference serves as a vibrant forum for the exchange of cutting-edge research, innovative ideas, best clinical practices, and emerging evidence in diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolic medicine.
At LDSS, we believe that meaningful research, lifelong learning, compassionate patient care, and social commitment are inseparable elements of excellence in healthcare. Guided by these principles, we remain dedicated to advancing scientific discovery, improving clinical outcomes, empowering patients and healthcare professionals, and contributing to healthier communities. As we look toward the future, our commitment remains unwavering—to foster better science, deliver better care, and create a lasting positive impact on society.
